Dab Hand

Shaped in 1983, by Tom McConville (b. 6 November 1950, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Britain; violin, vocals), and Tom Napper (b. Berkshire, Britain; banjo, mandolin, cittern, vocals), and Jez Lowe (b. 14 July 1955, State Durham, Britain; electric guitar, vocals, cittern, banjo, dulcimer, harmonica), Dab Hands played a combined mix of Scots, Shetland and Northumbrian music and traditional dance. Despite recording the imagination of several on the united kingdom folk picture, the group was short-lived, with Lowe departing in 1984 to go after a single profession. His place was used by Gordon Tyrrall (b. Skipton, Yorkshire, Britain; guitar, vocals). Using the departure of McConville, in 1987, Napper and Tyrrall continuing for some time being a duo, until Tyrrall also returned to performing within a single capacity. In the brand new millennium Napper teamed up with Tom Bliss (b. Guildford, Surrey, Britain; fiddle, whistles, flute, accordion, vocals) to create a songwriting and executing duo. Their debut, Silverlode, premiered in 2002, accompanied by The Kelping in 2005.
