D.F.A.

The music of Italian progressive rock-band D.F.A. became significantly organic in the years following group’s development. While their early repertoire, constructed by drummer/vocalist Alberto DeGrandis, motivated comparisons to United kingdom space rock rings, including Gentle Large and Green Floyd, their afterwards materials was enlivened by polyrhythms, cascading chord progressions, and jazz affects. Created in Verona, Italy like a trio offering DeGrandis, bassist Luca Baldassari, and key pad participant Roberto Tommasini, D.F.A. had been quickly expanded with the addition of guitarist Silvio Minella. Documenting a demonstration, Trip on Metro, in 1995, D.F.A. captured the interest of Deus Ex lover Machina vocalist Alberto Piras, who decided to make their debut Compact disc, Lavori in Corso. Tragically, keyboardist Alberto Bonomi was wiped out at age 48 within an car accident in his hometown of Verona, Italy on June 26, 2011.
