D.D. Jackson

Affected by his coach Don Pullen, D.D. Jackson helped the ailing Pullen full his final function, “Globe Eagle First Group,” in 1995. Jackson began within the piano when he was six and, after developing up in Canada, he gained degrees through the Manhattan College of Music (in jazz) and Indiana College or university (in traditional music); he also got important lessons with Pullen and Jaki Byard. D.D. Jackson offers used David Murray, Billy Bang, Nat Adderley, Jane Bunnett, Dewey Redman, and led his personal trio, documenting for Justin Period prior to making his RCA debut with 1999’s …UP TO NOW.
