Cupcakes

The Chicago-based power pop quartet Cupcakes includes vocalist Preston Graves, guitarist/vocalist Greg Suran, bassist Solomon Snyder, and drummer Matt Walker. Before they created the Cupcakes, Walker, Snyder, and Graves performed in a music group known as Tribal Opera. When that group dissolved in the middle-’90s, Graves started collaborating with Suran, who experienced also caused the performance artwork/rock and roll collective the Blue Guy Group, aswell as the Devices of Loving Sophistication. By 1996, Snyder and Walker became a member of the lineup as well as the Cupcakes started playing live schedules, supporting serves like Cornershop, Cibo Matto, and Veruca Sodium. Strong support because of their gigs resulted in a vacation to London to record with Stephen Road; despite strife inside the music group, the Cupcakes finished their self-titled debut record, that was released in early 2000 on Dreamworks Information.
