Created in 2013 from the ashes of well-known underground grindcore unit Gaza, Salt Lake Town, Utah’s Cult Leader focus on sludgy but tech-forward metalcore that invokes titles like Capture Them, Converge, and Pig Destroyer. Featuring three quarters of the initial Gaza lineup (Casey Hansen, Anthony Lucero, Michael Mason, and Sam Richards), the music group released its debut EP, Nothing at all for Us Right here, in 2014 via Deathwish Inc. The next year saw the discharge of Cult Leader’s debut studio room long participant, Lightless Walk, and a second EP, Ineffective Animal.
