Crystal Fighters

Merging Basque folk tools with drum loops, heavy synths, and lilting vocals, Spain’s Crystal Fighters shaped after singer Laure Stockley retrieved a diary of her deceased reclusive grandfather’s while going to his Basque country house. Inside his laptop was the skeleton of the incomplete opera, using what would end up being the potential band’s name as its name. Purpose on completing the task and honoring her grandfather’s legacy, she came back to London and enlisted aid from close friends Gilbert Vierich, Graham Dickson, Sebastian Pringle and Mimi Borelli, and collectively they worked to complete his opera. On the way, they became influenced from the dark, folksy noises from the Spanish tools and, merging them with flourishing basslines, the music group was created. In 2008, they agreed upon to the French style and music label Kitsuné. Their initial single, “I REALLY LIKE London,” became the just unreleased track to become named among Mixmag’s Best 100 Music in 2008, and was often remixed and performed throughout the Western european membership circuit. Their following one, Xtatic Truth, fell in-may of 2009, and many various other singles, including In the summertime and Plage, had been released prior to the band’s debut record, Star of Appreciate, arrived in past due 2010.
