Crystal Aikin

Gospel and urban-influenced compliment & worship vocalist Crystal Aikin was raised in Tacoma, WA, participating early in the choirs and performing groups in her local chapel. Eventually she discovered herself dealing with increasingly more business lead performing and directing responsibilities, even while she worked extended hours as a crisis space nurse at a Catholic medical center in Tacoma. Everything transformed, though, when she became a contestant around the 1st time of year of BET’s high-profile gospel competition Weekend Greatest in 2007. Aikin was obviously a fan preferred and was the 1st season champion, turning the publicity right into a record and creation agreement. Her debut recording, the self-titled Crystal Aikin, made an appearance in ’09 2009 from Zomba Gospel. Made by PAJAM , Dre & Vidal, and Asaph A. Ward, the recording featured pretty predictable modern gospel with plenty of jazz, rock and roll, and urban components to provide it wide target audience appeal. In addition, it allowed Aikin to give up her job like a nurse to focus on performing.
