The trio of producers referred to as Crustation are very connected in the fertile Bristol trip-hop community — they played in bands with Portishead’s Adrian Utley through the 1980s, and regularly hung out with Massive Attack and Smith & Mighty. They debuted in 1994 with two EPs for Glass of Tea Information (also the house of Monk & Canatella, Statik AUDIO SYSTEM and Crimson Penguin), and released their debut recording Bloom in 1998.
