Crushed Stars

The moniker for multi-instrumentalist/producer Todd Gautreau, Crushed Celebrities specializes in quiet, literate pop influenced by everyone from Burt Bacharach to the ocean and Cake. Previously, Gautreau experienced centered on Brian Eno and Steve Reich-inspired electronica, operating under the titles Sonogram and Rip Ceremony. Nevertheless, by the finish from the ’90s, he experienced that sensitive, melodic music was a much-needed antidote towards the noisy, grungy audio of the changing times. Gautreau released the 1st Crushed Stars recording, Self Navigation, in 2001. After putting your signature on to Arena Rock and roll Recording Organization, Gautreau’s second Smashed Stars recording, Obsolescence, found its way to 2006. Crushed Celebrities relocated to Simulacra Information for 2007’s Gossamer Times and 2010’s Convalescing in Braille. Arriving in 2014, the idyllic Farewell Youthful Lovers noticed Gautreau growing his sound with the help of a full-time drummer, and 2017’s Displaced Sleepers presented efforts from Jeff Ryan (Battle on Medicines, St. Vincent), Matt Pence (Shearwater, Midlake), and Stuart Sikes (Kitty Power, Moderate Mouse).
