Crunt, a side-project featuring 3 luminaries of the united states alternative rock picture, was founded in 1994 when Kat Bjelland (b. Katherine Bjelland, 8 Dec 1963, Salem, Oregon, USA; Babes In Toyland), Russel Siminis (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) and Bjelland’s then-husband Stuart Grey (Lubricated Goat) present themselves with ‘period on the hands’ in Seattle, Washington, USA. Their debut record, released in the hip Tx label Trance Syndicate Information, highlighted collaborative and specific songwriting with each music group member managing vocals at different points. Nevertheless, the important reception afforded the task was lukewarm at greatest and soon after Bjelland resumed her placement on the helm of Babes In Toyland while both of another members returned with their own projects.
