Crossfires

Although these were a fairly fair surf group, the Crossfires’ genuine claim to fame would be that the group in some way evolved in to the pop/folk-group stars the Turtles within the middle-’60s. Before that change, they were able to discharge two regional singles, and a good quantity of unreleased studio room and live materials surfaced a long time later. The average or somewhat average browse combo with a higher wackiness quotient, their absolute best music (“Fiberglass Jungle” and “UNCONTROLLABLE”) have an authentic driving menace, even though almost all their repertoire was pretty standard-issue surf-cum-frat rock and roll. Their second one, “One Potato Two Potato,” demonstrated them edging toward garage area rock, and provided the only tough clue towards the direction they might take because the Turtles.
