Although Crosscut formed in Tx and makes its base of functions in Dallas, the band is correct in the home in neighboring Louisiana, the birthplace of swamp pop. The four-man group provides many ties towards the Pelican Condition, not minimal of which may be the spicy dash of zydeco and Cajun music in its tracks, and a ample assisting of blues plus some nation. Even more tangible ties can be found, aswell. Crosscut’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Jerry Sartain, previously played in the town of Lafayette with another group known as Showdown. Lavell Jones, the band’s drummer, traces his family’s root base to Baton Rouge. Therefore, too, will Jimmy Rogers, who created the band’s Destination Anywhere record in 2001 for CSP Information, a label situated in Forney, TX. Commensurate with the nature of Louisiana, veteran Cajun performers Wayne Toups and Truck Broussard are highlighted for the discharge. The CSP label also released the band’s initial documenting, an eponymous record that was divide between cover tracks and original materials, during the summertime of 1999. Various other members from the music group include bass participant Terry Vieregge, and keyboardist and harmonica participant Chuck Mabrey. Jones didn’t join the music group until 2000, when he got over on drums for Erin Baker, who performed for the band’s self-titled debut.
