Crooks On Tape

A reunion of Enon noisemakers John Schmersal and Rick Lee (also of Skeleton Essential and Butter 08) with Joey Galvan on drums, Los Angeles’ Crooks on Tape began this year 2010, when the trio began saving their improvised periods. At that time, the incarnation of Enon offering Toko Yasuda was on its last hip and legs (the group officially disbanded in 2011) and Schmersal was also using Caribou and Young ladies Against Boys. Dealing with a bunch of synths and samplers aswell as electric guitar and drums, the band’s extreme yet mischievous audio evoked Enon’s first days aswell as its associates’ other tasks. The group continuing documenting into 2012, and delivered monitors to Misra Information, which released Crooks on Tape’s debut record, Fingerprint, in Oct 2013.
