Criteria’s Stephen Pedersen began in Cursive, in the past when Saddle Creek Information was even now Omaha’s little community secret. He ultimately departed that group, shifting to Durham, NC, to review regulation at Duke. But he couldn’t quit rocking, and created White Octave during college. In 2001 Pedersen came back to Omaha, and published a batch of tunes. They truly became the En Garde recording, which he recruited regional pals to greatly help him perform live. By 2005’s WHENEVER WE Break, released through Saddle Creek, Criteria’s full-time lineup included Pedersen, A.J. Mogis, Mike Sweeney, and Aaron Druery. Later on that yr Saddle Creek reissued Criteria’s debut; the music group also added to Lagniappe, the label’s compilation to advantage the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
