Cristóvão Bastos is a celebrated modern arranger, pianist, and composer. His 1st recording, Bons Encontros (distributed to Marco Pereira), was granted using the Prêmio Clear as the very best Instrumental Recording of 1994. As an arranger, Bastos received additional Clear awards for Paulinho da Viola (1990), Parceria (1995), Disfarça e Chora (1996), and Tantos Caminhos (1997). Like a pianist and arranger, he spent some time working with top works like Paulinho da Viola, Edu Lobo, Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Nana Caymmi, Clara Nunes, Gal Costa, Simone, and Ângela Maria. Like a composer, Bastos got partnerships with Chico Buarque, Paulo César Pinheiro, Paulinho da Viola, and Aldir Blanc.
