Crashfaster

Crashfaster is a San Francisco-based music group that combines components of 8-bit gaming music, synth pop, and industrial. Their music, while shiny and effervescent, tend to be darker and even more melancholy compared to the work of all artists from the chiptune picture, reflecting themes of loneliness and disenchantment. The group was were only available in 2009, originally as a single vehicle for gaming composer Morgan Tucker, who had written bouncy synth pop music using vintage gaming consoles aswell as drum devices and vocoders. Tucker also founded a Bay Region chiptune community known as 8bitSF for this period. After appearing on the few compilations, Crashfaster’s debut recording, Disconnect, premiered by Monobomb Information in 2011. In 2012, Crashfaster offered a remix for Minecraft composer C418’s recording One. By enough time Crashfaster released their second recording, Further, in 2013, that they had became a complete music group including vocalist Keiko Takamura, drummer Devin Nixon, and guitarist Ryan Case. The Superchroma EP adopted in 2014, as well as the group added a cover of “Under no circumstances I WANT TO Down Once again” towards the Depeche Setting tribute recording Enjoy the Technology. The two-track singles Echo and Rewind adopted in 2015.
