A band that were able to bridge the space between Bowie, Eno and the brand new wave that could follow, Cowboys International was basically an all celebrity group collected by vocalist and songwriter Ken Lockie that released one tremendous album in 1979 and a small number of 45s (Thrash, Aftermath, Nothing at all Doing, Today Today) before retreating into obscurity. With punk symbols from your Clash’s Terry Chimes to General public Picture Limited’s Keith Levine adding, THE INITIAL Sin in fact garnered a rave evaluate from Moving Stone’s David Fricke and was included as quantity 11 on Melody Maker’s Greatest Albums of 1979 list alongside such classics as Michael Jackson’s Off the beaten track, the Clash’s London Phoning, Talking Mind’ Concern with Music and Elvis Costello’s MILITARY. “Here Shows up A Sunday”, the album’s standard single became a hit in america and “Thrash” and “Pointy Sneakers” had been staples of the brand new York City golf club scene (regardless of the superiority from the Smooth Boys-esque “Aftermath”). Still, the loose collective of the band didn’t stay together and THE INITIAL Sin went of printing for over 2 decades. In 2003, Ken Lockie reissued his masterpiece of the past alongside non-album materials and alternative mixes as Cowboys International Revisited and started work on even more original material using the objective of releasing a fresh record.
