b. 31 August 1918, Eula, Tx, USA. Using the encouragement of his grandfather, he began singing cowboy music and playing electric guitar as a kid. In the first 30s, he performed frequently on KNEL Brady but by 1937, he was executing, as Sam Nichols The Roaming Cowboy, over the effective XEPN Boundary Radio place at Eagle Move. Right here, like contemporaries Slim Rinehart and Nevada Slim, he outfitted the part, marketed his songbooks and demonstrated a popular musician. He continued to be at XEPN until he became a member of the united states Navy during Globe Battle II.
