Coup d’Etat

The short-lived New Zealand pop group Coup d’Etat was led by vocalist/guitarist Harry Lyon, a onetime person in Hello there Sailor. Bassist Neil Hannan, ex-Red Mole keyboardist Jan Preston, and drummer Steve Osborne curved out the group, originally dubbed Wolfgang upon their development in early 1980. Osborne shortly exited, changed by drummer Paul Dunningham; very quickly the band’s debut one, “Simply no Music on My Radio,” premiered. Coup d’Etat’s sophomore work, “Doctor I LOVE You Medication,” was their lone strike, peaking in the very best Ten; a self-titled LP implemented. After just one single more one, “Long lasting Hire,” the music group dissolved, briefly re-forming in 1982 before contacting it quits once and for all.
