Biography
The Countdown Quartet are something of the NEW YORK indie supergroup, including past and present members from the Tonebenders, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and far less-known quantities like Six String Move, Knockdown Culture, and Ultra Fox. Shaped by trombonist Dave Wright and bassist Steve Grothmann from the Tonebenders when that music group split up, they play good-natured soul-funk, both instrumental and vocal, occasionally using a pronounced New Orleans R&B experience. Their self-titled 1999 debut was implemented in early 2001 by Party With!
