Philadelphia bedroom musician Dan Svizeny started functioning beneath the moniker Coughing Cool in ’09 2009, taking his name from a Misfits melody but building music that owed more towards the fuzzy textures of lo-fi saving as well as the dreamy sentiments of shoegaze than anything resembling punk.
