Cory Daye

With her light, airy vocals, Bronx-born Cory Daye helped to transform Dr. Buzzard’s First Savannah Music group into probably one of the most thrilling bands from the past due-’70s disco period. Creating a number of the first disco recordings, Daye and Dr. Buzzard’s First Savannah Music group skillfully combined big band, golf swing, leap blues, Broadway music, and Caribbean affects to their infectious dance music. Departing Dr. Buzzard’s First Savannah Music group to go after a solo profession, Daye found instant success. Fueled with a double-sided 12″ strike solitary, “Green Light” and “Pow Wow,” her debut single record, Cory and Me, accomplished gold status. Problem with the collapse of disco, Daye became a member of Child Creole & the Coconuts in the first ’80s, singing on the 1982 record, Tropical Gangsters, and showing up being a visitor vocalist on the 1995 album, TO VISIT Sideways. Resuming her single career, Daye documented a set of 12″ singles, “Town Evenings” b/w “Manhattan Cafes” in 1986 and “Middle of the night time in 1987. Because the early 2000s, she’s worked with article writer/manufacturer Coati Mundi.
