Conradin Kreutzer

Not to end up being confused with French violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer, to whom Beethoven famously dedicated a sonata, Conradin Kreutzer was a German composer and conductor popular in his day time but neglected since his loss of life. After Stuttgart, Kreutzer toured frequently and took some Kapellmeister posts, eventually attaching himself to theaters in Vienna, where he could create his operas with raising success. He journeyed even more in the 1840s, employed in Germany and associated his two opera-singing daughters on tour. Kreutzer’s music resembles that of Weber to some extent. Some of his enchanting tunes are performed and documented every once in awhile, but today he’s known, if, primarily for his well-crafted Septet for winds and strings, Op. 62.
