Biography
Although name connotes a lady lead, Connie Price & the Keystones is actually a project helmed by Los Angeles-based guitarist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Dan Ubick (of Breakestra fame) and his friend trumpeter/arranger Todd M. Simon. Ubick, who performed a lot of the equipment for the “group” within the studio room, simply wished an alias for his drum-playing personal, and went using the name Connie Cost for the funk-throwback group. In 2004 the Keystones released an EP, Blood’s Haul, over the Rocks Throw imprint Today Again, which same calendar year the instrumental Wildflowers premiered. Another EP, Sticks & Rocks, hit cabinets in 2005, and 3 years afterwards the music group — Ubick and Simon with the most common bevy of fellow Angeleno music artists, and today on Ubiquity Information — issued Inform Me Something, which presented guest looks from MCs like Percee P and Big Daddy Kane (for both of whom the Keystones documented another 12″ on Scion), Ohmega W, and Freestyle Fellowship’s Myka Nyne, amongst others.
