Compulsion grew out of the Dublin neo-punk music group called Thee Amazing Colossal Males. Vocalist Josephmary, guitarist Garrett Lee, and bassist Sid Rainey got a cope with Virgin that led to their earning a lawsuit against the label, and they regrouped as Compulsion in London with Dutch drummer Jan-Willem Alkema. The group continued welfare while honing its songwriting abilities, liberating three EPs and a hit solitary, “Shopping mall Monarchy.” Their audio combines punk quantity and hostility with pop melodies on produces like 1994’s Bed comforter and 1996’s Upcoming Is Medium.
