This unit was formed in 1986 with the songwriting partnership of ex-Dolly Blend members Deborah Wykes (b. 21 Dec 1960, Hammersmith, London, Britain; electric guitar, vocals) and Hester Smith (b. 28 Oct 1960, Western world Africa; drums), along with Nicky Brodie (vocals, percussion), Patricia O’Flynn (saxophone, ex-Shillelagh Sisters), Leigh Luscious (electric guitar) and Claire Kenny (bass, ex-Amazulu), later on replaced by bass participant Sophie Cherry. Their melodic pop/dance design, described with the music group as ‘ballroom spirit’, blended witty and caustic lyrics – in ‘I MIGHT HAVE BEEN Your Partner (If You’d Asked Me To)’ Wykes sang: ‘She’s therefore dumb, she’s therefore nice/I didn’t believe she’d last weekly… She’s so fairly she’s so good, she actually is such a waste materials of period/Well therefore she’s adorable, well I don’t treatment, she’s got stinking underwear!’. They authorized to Billy Bragg’s Power Records label liberating one recording in 1989.
