Combustible Edison

Biography

How to proceed if you have been slogging apart in the rock and roll underground for ten years to small critical acclaim without building any appreciable artistic or business headway? Within the mildew of David Johansen/Buster Poindexter, the music group Christmas made a decision to retool themselves as lounge lizards. On the debut record, the Providence, RI, group performed cocktail jazz, exotica, torch ballads, and B-movie spy/electric guitar themes. To finish their change, the band followed glaciers cream-colored tuxedoes within their live shows; one person in the group followed the pseudonym “the Millionaire,” and previous Christmas vocalist Liz Cox known as herself “Miss Lily Banquette” as she crooned languid jazz-pop music. After debuting in 1994 with I, Swinger, Combustible Edison released Schizophonic in 1996, implemented two years afterwards by The Difficult World.
