Coloured Balls

Biography

A product from the working-class section of the traditional western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, the Coloured Balls had a ready-made, predominantly male audience. This comprised supporters from the cult film A Clockwork Orange, who also followed the intense ‘skinhead’ design of closely-shaven minds and thick shoes or boots and brackets. The band shown this within their music and picture. Led by Lobby Loyde (b. John Baslington Lyde, 18 Might 1941, Longreach, Queensland, Australia, d. 21 Apr 2007, Package Hill, Melbourne, Victoria, USA), something from the R&B/rock and roll scene from the 60s (the Crazy Cherries, Crimson Hearts, the Aztecs), the Coloured Balls originally comprised Andrew Fordham (acoustic guitar/vocals), Trevor Adolescent (drums), and Janis Miglans (bass). They protected Chuck Berry tracks and had written others for this rock and roll ‘n’ roll tempo filled with Loyde’s business lead guitar function, all performed at an eardrum-shattering quantity. The band got success primarily in Melbourne; it had been short-lived (1972-74) and waned as styles invariably perform, with other users including Ian ‘Bobsy’ Millar (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Peter White colored (drums). Loyde proceeded to go solo, after that relocated to the united kingdom, releasing an recording of acoustic guitar experimentation, learnt to create and, pursuing his return, created underground and option bands.
