Colin Meloy

Created in Helena, MT, Colin Meloy offers fronted three rings, Happy Cactus, Tarkio, as well as the Decemberists. His 1st foray into single work arrived in 2005 when he strike the road to get the six-song EP Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey. He toured once again the following yr with fellow vocalist/songwriters Laura Veirs and Amy Annelle, where he hawked another self-released limited-edition EP of addresses, this time through the cannon of lauded English folk tale Shirley Collins. In 2008 Meloy released his 1st “formal” solo recording, Colin Meloy Sings Live! for the Destroy Rock Celebrities label, accompanied by a tour (where he offered his third installment of self-made tribute albums, this time around of soul tale Sam Cooke) with fellow Portland, OR, vocalist Laura Gibson.
