Biography
As Coco de Mer, Australian-born, New York-based manufacturer/composer Adam Plack fuses traditional France, Italian, and Latin arias with lush orchestration more than a foundation of downtempo grooves. This thick, ambitious fusion attracts from worldly affects and goals the contemporary metropolitan market despite its traditional wrappings. Rasa Music released Plack’s eponymous debut as Coco de Mer in 2002, billing it as “a fresh era of opera.” The record features soprano Chen Reis, pianist Ilan Rechtman, a 34-piece orchestra, and designs of interest and seduction.
