Clyde Federal

Chicago indie rock and roll outfit Clyde Government was formed in 2002 by singer/guitarist Michael Lyons. Using the enhancements of bassist Vince Laconte, autoharpist Jeremy Morse, and drummer Mike Bulington, the group cut its debut EP, Make sure you Be True, in the area of the weekend, gaining some regional airplay using the name tune. With 2003’s one “Cleared just a little Space,” Clyde Government further constructed its Windy Town group of fans. A full-length LP was prepared but hardly ever materialized, and rather the group released another EP, Private Skin. House recordings and live tapes yielded 2004’s GUIDELINES compilation, and afterwards that same calendar year the Contraphonic label reissued Make sure you Be True and Sensitive Epidermis being a double-EP established; around that same period, both Laconte and Morse resigned from responsibility, and with brand-new guitarist Joe Cannon and bassist Mike Renaud, Clyde Government documented the Piecework EP, released in early 2005 over the Tight Dispatch imprint.
