The Dallas, TX-based band Clumsy is often accused of rocking out like Minneapolis sets of yesteryear, like the Replacements and Soul Asylum. It will come as no real surprise after that that Marc Soloman is at Tommy Stinson’s L.A.-structured group Ideal before shifting to Dallas to create Clumsy with Rob Cooper. (Stinson, the previous Replacements boy question, had split Perfect to become member of Weapons n’ Roses.) An early on Clumsy incarnation highlighted Goo Goo Dolls drummer Mike Malinin, who performed on the initial demos. The group produced hype around Dallas using their dynamic concert events and agreed upon to Idol Information. Clumsy documented their debut record, 2001’s Focal point Deficit Disorder, in Michigan with Tim Patalan (Sponge, Fretblanket).
