Biography

Membership Nouveau formed in Sacramento in 1986, including Jay Ruler, Denzil Foster, Thomas McElroy, Samuelle Pratter, and Valerie Watson. Ruler was the innovative power behind the strike “Rumours” with the Timex Public Membership in 1986, and produced King Jay Information for Membership Nouveau. They produced the right disco-flavored and funk music, and acquired four consecutive strikes in 1986 and 1987: “Jealousy,” “Circumstance #9,” a cover of Costs Withers’ “Trim on Me,” and “Why You Deal with Me SO VERY BAD.” The final two both reached the number-two i’m all over this the R&B graphs. But, in 1988, on the height of the reputation, McElroy, Pratter, and Foster still left the group, and had been changed by David Agent and Kevin Irving. Their last recordings for Tommy Boy/Warner Bros. didn’t sustain the momentum, plus they subsequently disbanded.
