A former person in the neo-power pop outfit Starbelly, Cliff Hillis was using in John Faye’s backing music group the John Faye Power Trip when he started his very own solo career. Sketching intensely on ’90s alternative-flavored power pop serves like Matthew Special as well as the Velvet Crush for his buzzing, guitar-driven classicist audio, Hillis released his debut record, Be Viewing You, on the energy pop label Not really Lame in the summertime of 2001.
