A celebrated composer who has already established his tunes recorded by functions like César Camargo Mariano, Nana Caymmi, and Roupa Nova. He relocated to Rio de Janeiro in his teenagers, becoming a member of group Semente. In 1978, he created probably one of the most effective instrumental/vocal sets of Brazil, Boca Livre, with Maurício Maestro, Zé Renato, and David Tygel. His tunes “Toada” (with Zé Renato/Juca Filho) and “Quem Tem a Viola” (with Zé Renato/Xico Chaves) had been the big strikes that propelled the album’s overall performance, getting the top-selling self-employed recording. Departing from Boca Livre, he committed to his single career, documenting the solitary “Quero Quero” in 1980, accompanied by six single LPs and CDs documented until 2000. In 1985, he released the LP Pelo Sim, Pelo Não (CBS) with Zé Renato. Two of its tunes were contained in the Television Globo cleaning soap opera Roque Santeiro’s soundtrack, like the title monitor. His Banda Zil documented the recording Zil in 1987 and performed in 1988’s Totally free Jazz Festival.
