Claudia Acuña


Though she usually wanted to be considered a singer, Chilean jazz vocalist Claudia Acuña didn’t discover jazz music until she was 15. Rather the Santiago indigenous grew up performing traditional folk tunes and current pop strikes, but once a number of the city’s jazz followers noticed her perform, they informed her she experienced a natural present for the design. Acuña frequented Santiago’s main jazz club like a performer in addition to an target audience member, seated in on units with local music artists and conference luminaries like Wynton Marsalis, Michel Petrucciani and Danilo Perez. In 1995, Acuña relocated to NY to pursue her profession more seriously.
