Clarence “Guitar” Sims

b. c.1934, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Sims was influenced to sing the blues on hearing Tommy McClennan’s documenting of ‘Container Up And Proceed’, and later on vocal affects included Nappy Dark brown, Body fat Domino, Louis Jordan and Lloyd Cost. In 1955 Sims shifted to LA, where he made an appearance in talent displays and clubs. 2 yrs later, he shifted to San Francisco’s Fillmore area, presuming the professional name ‘Fillmore Slim’, and documented for the Dooto, Kent, and Dore brands. In the past due 60s he also made an appearance on disk as ‘Ron Silva’. Nevertheless, Sims was imprisoned between 1980 and 1985, and it had been during this time period that he begun to play electric guitar seriously. Pursuing his discharge, he documented a promising record for Troyce Tips’ label in Feb 1987 and is constantly on the experiment the west coastline.
