Citrus Sun

Citrus Sunlight is a clean jazz group created by Incognito innovator/maker Jean Paul “Bluey” Maunick. Maunick earned one-time Average White colored Music group guitarist Jim Mullen and two Incognito users: drummer Richard Bailey, bassist Julian Crampton, horn players Ed Jones, Fayazz Virgi, Dominic Glover, and pianist Tim Vine. Their small Mind Up debut Another Period Another Space was released Feb 27, 2001. Citrus Sun’s music is definitely more sophisticated jazz-based compared to the acidity jazz leanings of Maunick’s additional productions with Incognito and Maysa Drip. Gleam looser feel with their music, credited partly to Maunick’s want more live documenting with Citrus Sunlight instead of the greater piecemeal approach to overdubbing. He also required a far more hands-off method of the album, allowing the music artists add their personal ideas and placing aside his personal perfectionism. Citrus Sun’s name was produced from the tonal color of sunlight around brunchtime. Many of the songs possess a light breezy experience to them: “Make Me Smile,” “Tanya’s Music,” “Someplace, Nowhere,” as well as the name track. Once and for all measure, there’s the low-toned sax-lead songs “Buddapest,” “Blue Orchid,” as well as the strutting jams “JUST WHAT EXACTLY Do I REALLY DO” and “What IT REALLY IS.”
