The France group Circus was formed in early 2012 by several well-established solo artists including bassist and harmonica player Calogero, pianist and organist Stanislas, violinist Karen Brunon, and guitarists Elsa Fourlon and Philippe Uminski. Most of its people are notable performers. The band’s music combines pop, chanson, rock and roll, and circus music. The group’s 1st solitary, the digitally released “Sur un Fil” (On the Wire), visited radio and download in June of 2012, accompanied by a self-titled recording in November. The album’s tracks were compiled by top notch French songwriters including Grammy-winner Jean-Jacques Goldman, Dominique Ané (aka Dominique A), Marc Lavoine, and Marie Bastide, and had been predicated on, you guessed it, circus styles.
