Biography

The dean of Texas songwriting, Cindy Walker wrote over 100 country songs, including “Dream Baby (JUST HOW LONG SHOULD I Dream),” “Bubbles in my own Beverage,” “Take Me personally in Your Hands (And Hold Me personally),” and “Within the Misty Moonlight,” included in Lone Superstar institutions like Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, Ernest Tubb, and Al Dexter, in addition to Eddy Arnold and Hank Snow. Delivered in Mexia, TX, in 1925, Walker had written a lot more than two dozen tracks for Wills, and released her very own singer/songwriter album, Phrases and Music, in 1964. She actually is an associate of the united states Music Association Hall of Popularity.

2 Willie Nelson released an album of her work in March 2006.
3 Her songs were recorded by generations of celebrities, beginning with Bing Crosby in 1942. During a trip to Hollywood with her father, she sang one of her compositions for Larry Crosby, who asked her to return the next day so that Bing could hear it. He decided to record the song, "Lone Star Trail". Other hits she wrote include "You Don't Know Me", "Dream Baby", and the Gene Autry hit, "Silver Spurs".
4 Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
5 Elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997.
