Cicero Blake


Cicero Blake was the initial lead vocalist of the Golden Shades, who evolved in to the Kool Gents, the group that sprung Dee Clark. After departing the Golden Shades– which contains Blake, Adam Harper, Teddy Longer, Howard McClain, and John Carter — Blake produced many single recordings for little Chicago brands (Brainstorm, Renee, Achievement, etc.). John McCall, Doug Dark brown, and Dee Clark changed Harper, McClain, & Blake (THE GOVERNMENT known as). When he got the opportunity to record for a significant label — Brunswick Information in 1967–the two monitors he trim, “YOU HAVE Me Strolling,” and “A FEMALE Needs to End up being Loved,” had been shelved for twenty years. They didn’t surfaced until Kent Information released The Spirit of a guy. Blake’s edition of “Strolling” also shows up on Nice Soulful Chicago released in 1987; Jackie Wilson, as well as the Chi-lites also documented “Strolling.” Blake’s performing career began inside a chapel choir, then using the Golden Shades while still in senior high school, and he performed in armed service displays in the Air flow Force.
