Childhood close friends Anika Pyle (vocals, acoustic guitar), Drew Johnson (acoustic guitar), and Dan Frelly (drums) was raised in the tiny city of Monument, Colorado, even though all three have been dynamic in rings or had played single, it wasn’t until Johnson and Pyle upped sticks and moved to NJ that the thought of Chumped properly came together. Joined up with on bass by Doug McKeever — whom Pyle experienced met while operating at a farmers’ marketplace — the threesome worked well their method through drummers before Frelly made a decision to proceed to Brooklyn, and even though he’d never performed drums before, he became a member of the music group. With an instantaneous connection between your four, the bandmembers electrified previously acoustic tunes that each wrote during his period before developing Chumped.
