Biography
With songs like “Blow ‘Em Away,” “FORGET ABOUT Mr. Nice Man” and “Speak to My Attorney,” Chuck Brodsky primarily attracted interest for his biting sarcasm. But, as his albums demonstrate, Brodsky can be equally competent at storytelling with such contemporary ballads as “The Hands of Victor Jara,” “Costs and Annie” and “Long Tale Short.” Furthermore, Brodsky has created several baseball-related music which have been contained in the archives from the Country wide Football Hall of Popularity in Cooperstown, NY. Included in these are “The Ballad of Eddie Klepp,” about the only real white man to try out within the Negro Leagues from the 1940s, “Words within the Dirt,” which will pay tribute to Richie Allen, and “Lefty,” focused on Brodsky’s years as a child hero, Steve Carlton. Learning piano from age five, Brodsky turned to your guitar seven years afterwards, while participating in Penn State College or university. Hitchhiking to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in 1981, he started executing at coffeehouse open up mike evenings. He continuing to sharpen his abilities in European countries in 1983 and 1984, alternating between busking in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany and Holland and choosing citrus in Israel. Time for SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in 1985, he got a more energetic role in reservation appearances in regional coffeehouses. Launching a self-produced cassette, Live From Spam Town, in January 1991, he converted his focus on music full-time. He started touring through the entire UNITED STATES OF AMERICA shortly after showing up on the Kerrville Folk Celebration the following season. Brodsky’s debut Compact disc, A Fingerpainter’s Mural, premiered for the Waterbug label in January, 1995. Five a few months afterwards, he moved, together with his spouse Annie Gallup, to NEW YORK. Brodsky’s following albums, Words within the Dirt and Radio, had been released by[RoviLink=”MN”] Crimson House. [/RoviLink]Brodsky’s tune “WE HAVE BEEN Each Other’s Angels” was documented by Kathy Mattea and highlighted within the 1998 film SEARCHING FOR Mr. Goodlife. His sarcastic anthem “Blow ‘Em Apart” was included in David Wilcox as well as the Fast Folk Musical Revue. 2 yrs afterwards, he released Last from the Old Time.
