Biography

b. Donald Lee Anthony, 20 Dec 1935, Lincolnton, NEW YORK, USA, d. 5 Feb 1980, Willborn, Florida, USA. Anthony was a talented bluegrass musician who discovered fiddle, banjo and acoustic guitar as a kid. By his teenagers he was playing fiddle frequently with various organizations within the Shelby section of North Carolina. Within the middle-50s, he was showing up on the daily tv program in Asheville within Cousin Wilbur’s music group. In 1956, he became among the Stanley Brothers Clinch Hill Boys and documented together in Nashville in 1956/7. He relocated to Florida using the Stanleys, producing additional recordings at WNER Live Oak in 1959. After departing the Stanleys, he performed on events with Charlie Moore and Expenses Napier, but produced no more recordings until 1976, when he performed on Moore’s notedWheeling. In 1978, he documented his first single album and in addition shaped Big Timber Bluegrass, with whom he documented albums for Aged Homestead Information. In June 1979, Anthony was hospitalized with kidney failing and connected complications, which resulted in his loss of life at his house in Feb 1980.

1	Son of Doris Bowman.
2	One of four actors to appear in both the "Scream" franchise and its parody, the "Scary Movie" franchise. The other three are Jenny McCarthy, Jerry O'Connell and Tori Spelling. Anderson is the only one to appear in the "Scary Movie" franchise before appearing in a "Scream" film.
3	On the show Black-ish (2014), Laurence Fishburne plays his father and is actually only 9 years his elder.
