After nearly 2 decades being a singer in a variety of Seattle-area pop and roots rock bands, Christy McWilson finally released her solo debut, The Lucky One, in 2000. McWilson 1st recorded in the first ’80s as one-third of the lady group pastiche the Dynette Arranged, who released several singles and compilation songs in the 1st half from the 10 years, including “Seed of Like,” a standout around the 1984 Rhino female-focused fresh wave compilation GIRLS Can’t MAKE IT. That track was co-written and made by Scott McCaughey from the Youthful New Fellows, who later on became McWilson’s spouse.
