Christopher Bissonnette

Along with Tag Laliberte and Chris McNamara, Windsor, Ontario-based multimedia artist Christopher Bissonnette founded Thinkbox, a collective that performed in galleries and golf clubs (including appearances at 2003’s Movement Event in Detroit and 2004’s Mutek Event in Montreal), and self-released a few compilations (Settings and Acoustic guitar). Later on in the 10 years, Bissonnette released a set of silently stirring ambient albums — Periphery (2005) as well as the somewhat darker AMONG Terms (2008) — through the Kranky label. The next 10 years, he released a restricted Chat Blanc EP entitled The Banal as well as the Profound (2010), collaborated with David Wenngren for the house Normal launch The Meridians of Longitude and Parallels of Latitude (2011), and continuing with Kranky for Essays in Idleness (2014), the final which was made out of a self-made analog synthesizer.
