Christine Kane


Christine Kane started her music career like a great many other youthful struggling performers: performing in regional bars, night clubs, and coffeehouses, and planing a trip to appear in colleges and celebrations. Many reviews quickly began evaluating her singing design and sound compared to that of Mary-Chapin Carpenter and Rosanne Money. After graduating from Boston University, she relocated to Asheville, NC. In 1996, Kane finished an individually released debut recording, This Time THIS PAST YEAR. It was in fact recorded inside a friend’s cellar. Thanks to a whole lot of effort and just a little fortune, among the songs, “Off the bottom,” from that 1st recording was selected to be positioned on a compilation recording called Women’s Function. A number of the additional female artists within the launch are Vonda Shepherd and Janice Ian. With an evergrowing group of fans, Kane got some noteworthy places, like showing up at the summertime Olympics where she opened up for Nanci Griffith. Kane in addition has opened for organizations like los Lobos as well as the Seaside Boys. She actually got the opportunity to perform duet, “Seven 12 months Ache,” using the outstanding Rosanne Money. In 1997, Kane documented reduced sophomore recording, A Thousand Ladies, released beneath the Air flow Information label. On several songs, Kane’s solid lyrics accompany superb keyboard sounds, intense guitar work, as well as the cry of the fiddle.
