Christine Albert

Vocalist/songwriter Christine Albert drew on both her family’s Western european heritage as well as the music legacy of her adopted house state of Tx to generate her unique audio. Born and elevated in upstate NY, Albert transferred to Santa Fe, NM, at age 16 and begun to pursue a profession in music. After settling in Austin in 1982, she became a fixture over the area’s membership scene, but didn’t release her initial LP, YOU HAPPEN TO BE Silver, until 1990. Her following LP, 1992’s Texafrance, was a bilingual affair that explored her family’s French root base while seeking a typical ground between your music of Patsy Cline and Edith Piaf. Released in 1993, The Great Road proclaimed a renewed concentrate on straight-ahead nation, a trend additional produced by 1995’s Within the Lone Superstar Sky.
