Chris Stills

Because the son of Stephen Stills (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Buffalo Springfield) and French singer/songwriter Veronique Sanson, there is no denying that singer/songwriter Chris Stills originates from music root base. When Chris was a kid, his mom taught him how exactly to play the piano, and even though he also performed drums, it wasn’t until Chris was 12 that he found a guitar. On the highway with Crosby, Stills & Nash 1 day, among the band’s electric guitar techs put an extra electric guitar in the youthful Stills’ hands and — upon teaching him some basic chords along with a melody — Chris was connected. His parents divorced in 1978, with 13 he visited live along with his mom in Paris. He went to the renowned American College while there, with 16 Chris composed his first melody, “EASILY Were a Hill.” After graduating from senior high school in 1993, Chris transferred to back again to the Expresses, LA to be precise, and worked like a roadie for his dad. He also resided in NY for a couple years, developing a music group at one stage with another American College alum, Adam Cohen, child of famed vocalist/songwriter Leonard Cohen. Ultimately, Chris installed with Atlantic Information (exactly the same label his father’s music group called house) as well as the 23-year-old released his debut single recording, 100 Yr Thing, in January 1998. We were young hearing Buffalo Springfield, CSN, the Moving Rocks, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and the authorities, Chris also drew impact from both parents (specifically his father’s folk-rock) to generate his own mixture of ’60s-influenced rock and roll, folk, and blues on 100 Yr Thing. Other affects originated from Chris’ encounter playing over time with acts just like the Jayhawks and Ryan Adams. Stills’ eponymous sophomore work drew similarly from his French and American heritages, as well as for the very first time he sang both in British and French within the record. The recording was released abroad in Oct 2005 and discovered its method onto stateside racks the next May. Recorded in the Studio room du Palais, the live EP Once the Discomfort Dies Down: Reside in Paris made an appearance two months later on.
