Pianist/composer Chris Opperman was raised in NJ and attended Berklee. While at Berklee, Opperman had taken an opportunity and approached Mike Keneally to find if Keneally will be willing to generate the record he was piecing together with his music group from college, Chris Opperman & the Random Aspect. The solution was yes, and in Apr of 1998 they documented Oppy Music, Vol. 1: Crimson Crayon for Opperman’s very own Crimson Cow label. The record featured an assortment of pop/rock and roll stylings plus some of Oppy’s more difficult, thoroughly constructed, and sometimes amazing instrumentals. After graduating, Opperman transferred to LA, maintaining his romantic relationship with Keneally. Keneally offered as manufacturer on Opperman’s second record, Klavierstücke (2000), a totally single piano affair with an assortment of exquisitely performed compositions and improvisations. At the same time, Oppy was drafted for Keneally’s eight-piece edition of Beverage for Dolphins, where Opperman performed trumpet and just a little of piano for the documenting Dancing. For another few years, Opperman sought a musical place for himself in LA and tried to place a music group together, while functioning at the General Music Posting Group. In 2003, items started to skillet out, along with his music group Special Opps beginning to obtain gigs within the L.A. region. Also in 2003, Keneally was commissioned to compose a function for acoustic guitar and orchestra by holland Metropole Orchestra, and Opperman offered as co-orchestrator and copyist for both concert and following recording from the Universe PROVIDES (finally released in Sept 2004) . Pursuing that, Opperman was asked by Steve Vai to serve within the same capability, as Vai got an identical commission. Furthermore to orchestrating, Opperman was the presented piano participant for some shows with Vai as well as the Metropole Orchestra in-may of 2004. That same yr, Opperman released Ideas of nonlinear Period, an recording of duets, before touring briefly with Shankar & Gingger offering Zakir Hussain in Sept of 2004. IN-MAY of 2005, he started studio periods for Particular Opps, documenting at Vai’s Mothership Studio room while simultaneously getting ready to discharge his initial live record, Beyond the Foggy Highway, that was released in Oct of that calendar year. He also received the 2005 Unanimous Choice L.A. Music Award for Greatest Keyboardist/Pianist. In 2006, Vai’s “Lotus Foot,” a monitor that highlighted Opperman on piano, was nominated for the Grammys’ Greatest Rock Instrumental Functionality. That same calendar year he performed with Terry Bozzio and Warren Cuccurullo on the Viper Area and in addition guested in a Missing People reunion show.
